Nocka who is the CEO of Ice Rec Records is an amazing rapper and has produced greate hip hop music in collaboration with Renegade, Crushinem Records, Bogus Entertainment, and some other hip hop artist teams
NOCKA “THAT WAS THEN AND THIS IS NOW” “I’ve been in this music state of mind since the 7th grade, so I’m not concerned with who thinks I’m not ready or good enough I don’t have to prove myself for any reason to anyone,” Nocka says. “I don’t have to prove anything, because my abilities as a rapper and as a lyricist can be heard in my music.” Nocka is a top-notch artist whose lyrics and artistic vision tower over and knock out the competition as he calls it “SkyScraper Status.” Nocka , was born in Chicago Illinois 1989, and raised between chicago an the south suburban areas street. As a child, the aspiring rapper listened to and idolized early recording artists who he cites as some of his early influences. Working on his soon to come music career him self with very little help from any one but his family always believed in him and knew that he would amount to something great in the industry. Molding himself into a prolific and profound artist, he continued to work with himself with what he had improving at an highly accelerated rate. Starting his own label was the first goal he intended to reach. Not hesitating, he researched what it took and what was needed to start a record label. Soon after, Ice Rec Records was created. Approaching the end of his highschool years he decided to make a move. With the skills of a pro, Nocka broke through the barriers of his life and worked with the time allowed to put together material in order to analyze his distinct style and perfect it. “Listening to other artist already out trying to figure out the reasons for their success and the flaws that caused failure and change it up slightly to create the “Flawless Plan”. Aside from family, fellow artists have also recognized his maturity as a well rounded musician. Nocka’s flow and choice of subject matter have also become more versatile. Not having a good financial backing he began doing what he could to scrape up money to support his future in music. Buying his first pieces of equipment building a recording booth, and teaching himself what he needed to know in order to succeed in what he was destined to do. Not having enough money to pay a producer, he began to produce himself which made his music truly his music. Making himself a hip hop force to be reckoned with.“Everyday I experience new things, and it’s these experiences I express creatively in my songs.” A perfectionist in the lab, he has never been one to waste time. “ I haven’t released anything in the time most expected because I wanted to make sure everything was right”. In 2008 at the age of 19, Nocka is prepared to release the mixtape album entitled “Maken Moves vol.2.” This kid representing Chicago has come with raw talent. Nocka is earning the loyalty of many listeners. When the Chicago lyricist sets it off with the release of the single “Steal’n Tha Show” it became abundantly clear throughout the ’streets and the music industry that Nocka and Ice Rec Records is indeed the truth

VP Records is an independent reggae record label, located in Queens, New York. It is best known for producing Caribbean singers.
The foundation
VP Records was founded in 1979 by the late Vincent “Randy” Chin and his wife Patricia Chin, Chinese Jamaicans who owned the Randy’s Records in Kingston, Jamaica (as seen in the 1978 film Rockers) as well as the Studio 17 recording studios. In the mid-1970s, the Chins moved to New York City, and in 1979 they opened a store in Jamaica, Queens called VP Records, which sells and distributes records. In 1993, the record label was formed after the success of the retail store. The name of the label is a product of the first letters in the founders’ names, hence the title “VP”.
The music
The label established itself as one of the first and largest independent record labels for reggae and dancehall, and with the popularity of the riddim sound of the early 2000s, the label achieved worldwide success for artists such as Sean Paul through the label’s deals with Warner Music’s Atlantic Records and Virgin Music Canada. The label is often also accredited with having increased the popularity of the now globally recognized Elephant Man, also known as the ‘Energy God’ or ‘Ele’, through a deal with Bad Boy Records. VP Records has acquired the slogan “Miles Ahead in Reggae Music” to signify that they could be considered to be the future of music that derives from the Caribbean. Besides reggae, VP is also known for dancehall and soca music. VP also releases a series of Riddim Driven albums, which feature various artists.
VP Records has been awarded Billboard’s “Best Independent Label” for two consecutive years and has received the award for “Best Reggae Imprint Label” for three consecutive years. VP was also nominated for Best Independent Reggae Label at the 2003 Billboard Hip-Hop and R&B awards, and had been mentioned and featured in publications such as Vibe magazine, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Billboard, and Time magazine.
The label is now run by Mr. Chin’s sons Randy and Christopher, while Ms. Patricia Chin continues to assist with the maintenance of her late husband’s company as well. In 2007, VP Records began re-issuing classic albums from the 1970s and 1980s on the 17 North Parade label, the address of Randy’s Studio, where it all began.
